Short version
- Your downloads, media files, and browsing activity stay on your own device.
ssvid.appdoes not run analytics trackers, ad pixels, or session-replay tools.- Stripe handles payments, Sentry handles optional crash reports, and Cloudflare handles edge security.
Downloader Software ("SSvid", "we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how we handle information when you use the SSvid desktop application ("Application") and our website at ssvid.app ("Website").
1. Our privacy principles
SSvid is built on a privacy-first model:
- Minimal collection: We collect only what is necessary to deliver licensing, billing, support, and product reliability.
- Local-first: Your downloads, media files, and browsing activity stay on your own device. We do not provide cloud sync for personal media.
- No tracking: We do not build advertising profiles, sell user data, or run analytics trackers on the landing site.
2. What we collect
2.1 License and subscription data
When you activate a license or manage a subscription, we process the minimum information needed to validate access. This may include your purchase email, license status, billing cycle, and a hashed device identifier used for activation limits.
2.2 Crash reports (Sentry)
If the Application encounters an error, a crash report may be sent to Sentry, our error-monitoring service. Crash reports can include:
- Application version and operating system
- Error stack traces and technical diagnostics
- Device architecture, such as Apple Silicon or Windows x64
Crash reports do not include downloaded URLs, file names, media content, or personal files. You can opt out of crash reporting inside the Application settings.
2.3 Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive only the operational details required to fulfill your purchase, such as your email address, plan status, invoice reference, and billing state. We never see or store your full card number, CVC, or raw payment credentials on ssvid.app.
2.4 Support requests
If you contact support, we process the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, the issue description, and any screenshots or logs you choose to send us.
2.5 Update and entitlement checks
The Application may contact our services to check for updates, validate premium status, or open billing and license recovery flows. These requests are limited to the information required to complete those tasks.
3. What we do not collect
We want this to be explicit:
- We do not collect, transmit, or store the URLs you download from.
- We do not collect your download history, media files, or file names as part of our normal backend operations.
- We do not read your browsing history, bookmarks, or personal documents.
- We do not upload your downloaded videos or personal media to our servers.
- We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, ad tech, or session replay on the landing site.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
4. Local data storage
SSvid is designed to keep product data on your own machine:
- Download database: Stored locally in your app data directory.
- Application settings: Stored locally through platform-native preferences.
- License state: Stored locally and validated against our backend when needed.
- Browser cookies for authenticated downloads: Kept in your operating system's secure storage, not transmitted to our servers as a browsing log.
- Downloaded files: Saved only to the folder you choose.
5. Third-party services
We use a small set of service providers to operate the product:
- Stripe for payment processing. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Sentry for optional crash reporting and diagnostics. Sentry Privacy Policy
- GitHub for release distribution and update hosting. GitHub Privacy Statement
- Cloudflare for CDN delivery, TLS termination, bot filtering, and DDoS protection on the Website. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
6. Cookies and browser storage
6.1 Website
ssvid.app does not run analytics cookies or advertising cookies. The only browser-side persistence used in normal operation is:
- Cloudflare cookies: Essential security cookies for edge protection and abuse prevention.
- Local browser storage: Theme preference and cookie-banner dismissal, stored locally in your browser rather than sent to a third-party analytics provider.
These mechanisms are used for security and basic UX continuity, not for behavioral tracking.
6.2 Application
The desktop application does not use browser cookies. Preferences and operational state are stored through platform-native mechanisms.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Local data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the app or delete it manually.
- License and subscription records: Retained for the duration needed to support your active plan and resolve legitimate support issues.
- Payment records: Retained only as necessary for accounting, refunds, chargeback handling, and legal compliance.
- Crash reports: Retained by Sentry according to our configured retention window, then deleted automatically.
- Support correspondence: Retained only for as long as needed to resolve support, billing, or compliance matters.
To request deletion of account-linked data we control, email [email protected].
8. Your rights
If you are in a jurisdiction with applicable privacy rights, such as the EEA or the UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Access: Request a copy of your account-linked data.
- Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Erasure: Request deletion where retention is no longer necessary.
- Restriction or objection: Ask us to limit specific processing activities where the law provides that right.

SSvid is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
